Yep. It seems as if I’m becoming a regular at this establishment lol.
Like for many of you yesterday was a busy day. Add “lack of sleep” to the equation and understand how seriously busy it became. Other than struggling to stay awake so early in the AM til PM, gig rehearsal with Matthew Funches for some time (covering about 40 songs).
Followed by another long rehearsal with bandtastic4 on the other side of town
Upon leaving this rehearsal i stopped by The Renaissance Suite and immersed in the melodious scene. What a time!
My part of recording Trillmatic is over! After two studio sessions 10-11 tracks have been covered. I missed part of the scratch rap and guitar sessions but I was glad to cut a song with the guitar today.
Day 2 in the stu. Bandtasticfour. Trillmatic. Drum tracks were laid to rest today. Sweet crispy strokes could be heard a block away. TRUST: I know. I was a block away. And I heard them.
Friday night. East of downtown. Which town? H-town. Loft studio. Nice pad/studio worth boasting about…anyways,@Bandtasticfour is in the stu ready to bring Trillmatic to the masses. Much preparation and creativity has went into this project thanks to the masterminds and in no time the project will be at your fingertips.
Paying homage to a legendary album (easy guess), Trillmatic is more than just a play on words and beats. Each track is handcrafted with organic musical elements and swift lyrical more that WILL keep you listening track after track after…yep you guessed it.
Tonight we’re cutting scratch tracks and tomorrow the drums will cut all tracks for the rest of us to build upon. Now that it’s been realized that I’m not needed beyond moral support I’m about to visit my ailing F-I-L. More to come. Peep some of these pics I managed to snap before my abrupt departure.
Last night @bandtasticfour prepped songs in rehearsal to get back in the studio.

@bandtasticfour played at the Mink for possibly the very last time. The club’s closing down for remodeling and estimated reopening date seems too grim for them to even guess which year ( yeah, that grim as of date).
We were the only non rock band rocking the stage. Of course you would’ve seen the typical stuff occur: amazing spray holding hair and tight jeans, loose jeans and more relaxed hair, cigs for days, stacks upon stacks upon stacks of amps to blow put everyone’s ears, plenty of guitars and drums for everyone to share, oh and drunk emotional guy lets loose on everyone and almost got beat up…twice.
So yeah we get on stage and do our usual thing…KILL IT!!! And the icing on top of that killing is that Dre is back so it was such a reunion that even the Beatles and Monkeys could envy. Yep-flame on was present and…flaming(?)
